Welcome to SkydropX!

Hello there! We are glad that you are here and to make your first day a little bit easier we have wrote this introduction that will guide you through your first steps as a new tech member.

Paperwork

It is very important to ensure that you have completed all the required paperwork and requests by the staff. This will allow us to be quicker and grant you permissions for the required tools and accounts. Please verify that you have completed and submitted all the necessary documentation.

MacBook jamf enrollment

Once you have received your SkydropX MacBook you will need to enroll your device to gain access to company resources including apps, email, and settings. Please open this link and fill with the following information:

After you click the start enrollment button a file named enroll.mobileconfig will be saved to your computer. If this file does not open automatically, you will need to locate and open it to start device enrollment. Please accept all the requested permissions. In System Preferences > Profiles, you’ll see a legend like: ‘This Mac is supervised and managed by Skydropx.’

Tools

Slack

Slack is our main communication tool, you will be added to a few of workspaces: One for the tech members called SkydropX Tech, and another to keep contact with the rest of the company called shipkraken, you can switch between the two workspaces in your left spaces bar. Also you could have multiple channels to chat or receive information about a specific topic.

Github

If you are reading this then you already have some level of access to our official code repositories, this is where our code lives and you can learn more about how we use it with our official Git Workflow.

Jira

You will also receive an invitation to join our Jira, we use this tool to manage tasks and projects. Once inside you will be able to see the current sprint tasks, take your first one, and move it from to-do to in-progress.

Misc

According to your developer role you could also receive access to other platforms such as: Heroku, Sendgrid, Airbreak, etc.
